The Communist Party of Finland’s National Congress, 11-12 June, elected new officials. Retired senior medical officer Liisa Taskinen from Kotka was elected as the party's new chairperson. Taskinen, says that humanity is facing great and urgent tasks.

The aim of the communists is to ask the right questions in the right places, and thus radicalizing the debate. We can also play our part in revealing how companies, and more broadly capitalists, are trying their best to benefit also from the situation created by the environmental crisis.

"Many young people that are political. I've observed how young people are increasingly worried about environmental issues that capitalist system is unwilling to solve. I'd say, if we could find the way to show that we, defenders of socialism, are those who care for environment and want to save it for the future generations as well, then we could attract even more people", said Heikki Ekman in Caracas.

Communist Party of Finland invited Communist and Workers parties to Helsinki in November 2019 to Shorter Working Day - Helsinki Seminar to discuss about these new democratic models of work, labor movement and trade unions future, models of social security and shorter workingdays.
