Tehtävänä herättää ihmiset - Job is to wake people up

Valheita ja militarisointia vastaan
Ruotsalaisen Naiset rauhan puolesta järjestön perustajajäsen Agneta Norberg toimii aktiivisesti Ruotsin rauhanpuolustajissa, kansainvälisessä sotilasliitto Natoa vastustavassa No to Nato verkostossa ja on aseet ja ydinvoiman avaruudessa kieltoa ajanvan kansainvälisen verkoston hallituksen jäsen.
- Olen rauhanaktivisti, joka kertoo totuuden. Vastustin valheita Neuvostoliitosta ja vastustan valheita nykyisestä Venäjästä. Kylmä sota numero kaksi on täällä tänään! Yksi aikamme suurimpia kysymyksiä on entisen puolueettoman Ruotsin militarisoituminen.
Pohjoinen on tärkeä monista syistä. Agneta Norberg näkee, että Yhdysvalloilla on tavoite - kuten ensimmäisen kylmän sodan aikana - sisällyttää hallinnassaan koko Neuvostoliiton manner- nykyinen Venäjä. Tämä Yhdysvaltojen hegemoninen logiikka. Islanti on jälleen tilanteen ytimessä.

Peace Building and Counter Current
In an English-language webinar “Peace Counter Current” on 21 November at 4 pm-6pm (CET), discussion on building a culture of peace will be opened by three activists from Finland, Sweden and England.
Ritva Harle, Kate Hudson and Agneta Norberg will discuss European peace initiatives, disarmament and the future steps of civil society peacebuilding. Discussion is part of the Counter-Current events and will be broadcast online.
Agneta Norberg is one of the founding women of Women for Peace in Sweden. Norberg is in the Board of Directors in Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space. Norberg is a member of No to Nato in Sweden and of The Swedish Peace Committe.
Legacy of peace work
Agneta Norberg´s mother died in 1968 my mother died. Six sisters and brothers, inherited a small sum of money. Agneta asked herself how to use the inheritance for something unimportant. At the same time there was an announcement in Västerbottens Kuriren to visit Leningrad by bus. Agneta decided to go to Leningrad. It was her first time abroad and she was very excited.
- In Leningrad we were guided around the big city by a knowledgeable and nice person. We were guided to the large cemetery for the people who had died in the three year of siege during second world war. It was a shock for me to know about the immense sufferings by the Russian people during the war and that they - not the US soldiers had saved us all from nazism, says Norberg
That time Agneta Norberg was member of the Liberal Party and she wanted to talk about her experience in Leningrad returning to Lycksele, where she lived. Nobody was interested. Agneta was furious and she left the party.
Against lies and militarization
After some years after Norberg was one of the founding women for Women for Peace in Sweden.
- I am a peace activist to tell the truth and go against the lies about then Soviet Union now Russia. The cold war number two is here! The Militarization of the former neutral and nonaligned Sweden is today a big issue. Why isn´t it in the public debate?
- Peace activists are ageing and very few new are coming. We are actually in a crisis not only ageing but also when it comes to understanding the current situation. Sometimes I think: Maybe we must have a dangerous military crisis so people are forced to wake up, thinks Norberg
All voices shall be listened to
Sweden and even Finland are in Nato´s Partnership for Peace project. Additionally, Sweden and Finland are also in Host Nation Support to Nato which means that Swedish and Finnish soil can be used for US/Nato troops and used as a platform for war against a third country.
- There is very little if any debate about these frightening developments. I have a personal terrifying experience how I was silenced by Svenska Dagbladet. In December 28th,2018, a journalist, Stina Oskarsson, made an interview with me and a photographer took many photos of me. This interview was supposed to be in a series: All voices shall be listened to! (Alla röstar ska få höras!) The Svenska Dagbladets editor refused to publish the interview with me. All the other ten were published, explains Norberg
Peace activist Agneta Norberg asks if the regular Swede realize the meaning of militarization and war exercise by NATO in the entire North.
- If the regular Swede knew what is going on, I am sure they would react. But as you know we have the military/industrial/massedia/komplex which means that media is complicit in the crimes going on, says Norberg
Norberg is rather often invited to speak at many peace events and she can assure you that many in the public are taken by surprise and anger when they listen to her message.
- It is so tragic that many live in the belief that Sweden is neutral and nonaligned country and refuse to understand the totally changed picture, underlines Norberg.
Conscious people for peace
According to Norberg the European Peace Movement and Swedish Peace-movement is doing nothing or very little to act against militarization and culture of war.
- I have been taking part in Peace activities in Germany and there you find many young activists. Just some examples: In Kiruna the enlarging of Esrange is ongoing. Esrange is cooperating with NASA. They have received million kronor from the Swedish state to enlarge Esrange. I don´t think there are many if any in Kiruna who realize what the money will be used for, says Norberg
Agneta Norberg has reason to suspect that the Kiruna budget will be used to install minisatellites.
- I know from earlier studies, in a compendium I have, that mini-satellite are constructed at Ångstrom laboratories in Uppsala. Their purpose is to destroy satellites. I suspect Russian and Chinese satellites, explains Norberg
US ambitions in the Far North
Women for Peace are active against nuclear weapons but seldom taking on satellites and money used to install them. Norberg says that she has difficulties to create dialogue and understanding about the spy station FRA and how Russian military cables on the bottom of the Eastern Sea are controlled and information forward to NSA in the USA.
- When president Obama visited Sweden in 2008 there was an agreement between the right-wing Carl Bildt and Obama about this explains Norberg.
The High North is important for many reasons. Agneta Norberg sees that the US have the ambition- as they had during the first Cold War- to contain the entire Soviet continent- today Russia.
- This reason prevails and now Iceland is again at the centre and Keflavik will be rebuilt and new listening stations are installed in Vardö in Northern Norway very close to the Russian border. Two of the US` Trident nuclear equipped submarines are deployed under the ice in the North Pole.
Secondly. There are big findings of oil and gas under the ice in the North. There are estimated one third of gas and one fifth of oil which will be accessible when the ice melts, explains Norberg.
New Swedish troops are trained and based in Gotland. During former Cold War Gotland was extremely important very secret and Gotland was used for US military antennas.
The Peace Researcher Owe Wilkes at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) was expelled from Sweden 1981, without any explanation to the public.
- Owe Wilkes “crime” was biking in Gotland, and taking notes where the US military antennas were set up. Owen s was a specialist in world-class for his knowledge about antennas. I suspect the Swedish troops and installations in Gotland are cover for US interests in that island, says Norberg
Strategic Baltic Sea
Agneta Norberg is currently reading a document by a German researcher about the importance of the Baltic Sea for Germany.
- I have only read a few sheets why I only can say a few things: Germany has been asked by the US to take on the Baltics. The US has a lot to do in China why Germany is asked to take on the Baltics. But Sweden is there as well and the US has in fact occupied all military bases in all three states. The reasons are many but most for hindering Russia´s entry into Eastern Sea and the Atlantic just as during the former Cold War, says Norberg.
