The speech by Jiri Mäntysalo, Vice Chairperson of the Communist Party of Finland, at the 15th World Socialism Forum in Beijing, China on November 3rd, addressed militarism, the erosion of international law, the importance of youth participation in a system change, the environmental crisis, as well as just artificial intelligence and its potential to liberate the working class.

The World Socialism Forum, held for the 15th time in China, will convene on November 3–4 to discuss international politics, new dimensions of socialism, and changes at the crossroads of world history. Jiri Mäntysalo, Vice Chairperson of Communist Party of Finland (SKP), will travel to Beijing to attend the forum and participate in academic seminars in other Chinese provinces.

Ongoing militarization is affecting, and will affect in the future, to young people's feel of security. Militaries and right-wing media are aggressively feeding the non-critical thinking for youth, said SKP´s vice chairperson Jiri Mäntysalo in European Left Congress in Vienna.

Finland's accession to NATO will not bring more stability to the region, but more tension. Turning Finland's eastern border into a border between NATO and Russia would bring more armed forces and military activity here says Helsinki District Assembly of the Communist Party of Finland.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to start a war in Ukraine is totally unacceptable and puts the security of the whole world at stake. The Communist Party of Finland does not approve of this action by Russia in Ukraine. Russia's actions smack of imperialism and Russo-nationalism.  

Rauhanaktivisti Agneta Norberg puhuu englanninkielisessä rauhan vastavirtatapahtumassa verkossa lauantaina 21.11. Norberg uskoo, että tavalliset ihmiset lähtisivät rauhantyöhön mukaan jos oivaltaisivat paremmin tilannetta.
