Per capita, Finland spends the 12th most on military expenditure in the world. The Communist Party of Finland (SKP) calls for a substantial reduction of the military budget and the arms industry. In SKP’s view, the money allocated to armaments would be far better used for education, raising basic social security to 1,500 euros per month, and improving social and health services.

The speech by Jiri Mäntysalo, Vice Chairperson of the Communist Party of Finland, at the 15th World Socialism Forum in Beijing, China on November 3rd, addressed militarism, the erosion of international law, the importance of youth participation in a system change, the environmental crisis, as well as just artificial intelligence and its potential to liberate the working class.

The World Socialism Forum, held for the 15th time in China, will convene on November 3–4 to discuss international politics, new dimensions of socialism, and changes at the crossroads of world history. Jiri Mäntysalo, Vice Chairperson of Communist Party of Finland (SKP), will travel to Beijing to attend the forum and participate in academic seminars in other Chinese provinces.

The challenges Cuba faces, such as the collapse of the power grid, food shortages, and the scarcity of medicine and fuel, are the result of the unjust trade embargo maintained by the United States.
